From Périgord Evasion to Sentier des Sources.
In 1990, Dominique, returned to the region of his birth where, with the help of his family, he built a village composed of chalets and named this first venture Périgord Evasion.
He loved old stone and was passionate about architecture, so in 1998 he bought a set of ruined farm buildings. It took two winters to demolish the buildings and to transport 800 m3 of stones, rafters and tiles. At the dawn of the 21st century, another new adventure was about to begin — transforming the village into a traditional hamlet in the old style.
The final touches were put to the first stone gite La Métairie in spring 2000 and since then each year has seen the addition of another stone-built house. In 2005, a mini farm and a vegetable garden were added to bring a further touch of authenticity and an additional source of pleasure for young and old alike.
This complete metamorphosis prompted us to choose a better name to reflects the spirit of our little village. We chose le Hameau du Sentier des Sources, which means Spring Path Hamlet as a name for this little corner of paradise that we invite you to come and discover for yourselves.
